Father’s Day Prayer in honour of the Father of the Universe

The Cooksville Sai Centre Ladies Wing organized Father’s Day prayers to emphasize the importance of honouring fathers and parents.

On Sunday June 17th, Cooksville Centre honoured all fathers. It was an occasion that saw the active participation of all fathers in a vibrant bhajan. By honouring the “Dads” the Centre wanted to honour the Omnipresent, Omnipotent and Omniscient Father Sai of the Universe. After, Lord Ganesha was invoked to bless the ensuing event the Gayatri Mantra was chanted 21 times to propitiate their Divine Father Sai. This was followed by vibrant bhajans sung by the young fathers and grandfathers. The fathers poured in a great amount of effort into the bhajans by chorusing, playing instruments and singing the Glory of their Divine Father Sai, and chanted: “You are our Lord, You are our Father, You are our Jesus, our Allah, our Buddha, Zoroaster, Mahavira, Shiradi Baba and bowing thousand times at your feet gives us strength, liberation and devotion – accept our salutations.”

The children of Cooksville showed gratitude to their fathers and grandfathers by lovingly taking Pada Namaskar. Thirty-five fathers participated in this special ceremony. The children also gave them handkerchiefs as a tribute to our Swami’s use of handkerchiefs. In these gifts lay a paternal and divine message of love, respect and devotion.

The event was brought to a close with the ladies’ offering of delicious food. The event was imbued with love and familial affection of a genuine Sai family. The Thought for the Day captured the essence of the celebrations by quoting Swami.

“The mother is every man’s primary wealth. There is no higher God than the mother. The father is one’s treasure. Instead of valuing such precious wealth and divinity, men engage themselves in acquiring all kinds of riches and possessions. Everyone should cherish one’s parents as embodiments of the Divine. The mother and father may be physically separate, but spiritually they are one. One must love and serve them. An ungrateful person is worse than a beast.”.

Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, SSS Volume 16, Chapter 24.
