During this 2020 Pandemic, many of the community service centers were lacking resources to help the homeless all over the city. One such service based center is Sanctuary Toronto, who welcome homeless and those with temporary housing by supporting them and offering direction to those who want to reclaim healthy and meaningful lives. They offer food, clothing and basic health care needs, however during this pandemic their resources were depleted and they were actively looking for donations. One of the youths at the Toronto East Sai Center presented this idea to the rest of the young adults (YAs), and with the support of 41 Toronto East Members and 5 other YAs, they collected items worth $1500 and were able to drop it off at The Sanctuary Toronto. Items included non-perishable food, clothing, sleeping bags and tents.
