Easwaramma Day / Aradhana Day 2020

Through this unprecedented time since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, lots of adaptation were made at many centres to move its activities to an online platform. Although gurus and students had challenges on how to commemorate Easwaramma Day and Aradhana Day in the usual festive manner, the Sri Sathya Sai Baba Centre of Toronto-York was able to find a way to overcome it. An Easwaramma Day Competition was held, where students were given an opportunity to present their perspectives on a topic that was selected by their SSE gurus. These presentations were meant to articulate the students’ critical thinking and spiritual knowledge.  Students were evaluated by a panel of judges who scored the presentations through several criteria such as clarity of communication and thought, eye contact, and the efforts taken in preparing their topic. Despite the challenge of everyone being home, students gave it their best, and the students who excelled received a gold medal.

Aradhana Day celebrations were also modified to a digital format. The offerings this year reflected the themes of love and unity. To show their love for Swami, students offered art, speeches, thoughts on a subject via presentations. To show the support and love to many of the essential workers and frontline workers of Toronto-York Centre, the students created cards of gratitude. SSE students, Gurus and coordinators displayed such dedication, unity and resilience during this unprecedented time, and found creative ways to present their gratitude to Mother Easwaramma and Swami.
