The Sathya Sai Centre of Cooksville had the opportunity to organize two prayer sessions to celebrate the happy occasion of Canada’s 150th commemorative birthday, oneness with its diversity, and unity of colours.
To invoke feelings of peace, unity, harmony and respect for Canada and the world, the first session, held on June 24, started at 7 AM with 30 members chanting the Gayatri Mantra for one hour. The Gayatri Mantra’s vibrations increased through chanting in unison and uplifted our spirits.
At the second session held on June 29, members dressed in red and white outfits in the colours of the Canadian flag. After bhajans and singing a birthday song, the Canadian flag was flown in the centre, followed by cake-cutting, adding to the festive air. The members felt Sathya Sai Baba’s altar come alive, smiling at the congregation in assent.
As the positive feelings continued on, in addition to Canada’s 150th birthday, the members also celebrated their undying devotion to their beloved Sathya Sai Baba.
