SSIO Canada united with 27 other Faith groups to commemorate the United Nations World Interfaith Harmony Week, at the Interfaith Festival of Creation. The event was held in Toronto over the annual Family Day weekend observed every February, and attracted over 1000 visitors, including many children.

Through music, prayer, meditation, film, booths, food, poetry, reflections and children’s activities, the focus was on celebrating Earth, the value of creation in our lives, and cultivating awareness to create a more environmentally sustainable planet.

SSIO engaged with the community, sharing SSIO information on EduCare, MediCare, SocioCare, Swami’s teachings on “Nature is the Vesture of God” and “Living the Five Human Values for Mother Earth”, through a booth, “Save the Planet” poster, and video presentation from SSIO’s Environmental Sustainability website.

Attendees were drawn to Bhagawan’s divine message of Love All, Serve All and Help Ever, Hurt Never. The SSIO booth discussions centered around practicing the five universal human values of Truth, Right Action, Peace, Love and Nonviolence in daily life, through thought and actions, to protect and preserve Mother Earth. Participants were eager to learn about Love in Action and Ceiling on Desires. They understood the positive impact we could make on our planet by limiting the use of natural resources, and were inspired to not waste food, money and time, and instead use what was saved to help others. Everyone left with a feeling of hope and peace, and a renewed commitment to work together, to live selflessly, in harmony with others and Nature.
