Wing: Ladies Wing
Baby Wipes and Diaper Drive
As part of our outreach activities, we were looking for places where we could serve during the pandemic. A pregnancy center in Toronto that supports families for pregnancy and parenting had seen a dramatic increase in the use of their Care Closet at the Pregnancy Centre. The Centre provides families with diapers, wipes and formula as needed. In the past year, they saw a dramatic rise in the total number of visits, with the greatest need for wipes and diapers. The Ladies wing in collaboration with the Seva team initiated a project to collect wipes and diapers. The collection happened over a period of 2 months and at the end of May, we were able to collect around 4703 diapers and 7316 wipes.
Sai Mask – Hands that Stitch
The success of the Mask project of the previous month was an incentive for the Ladies Wing of Sri Sathya Sai Baba Centre of Cooksville to continue the Mask stitching project for another month (May 2020). The project was completed with the cooperation of the Youth and Service Wings.
Making Masks for the Toronto East General Hospital
Stitched one thousand four hundred and forty-five (1445) face masks and donated three times – April 17th, May 21st & May 29th to Toronto East General Hospital (Michael Garron Hospital). This activity is still going on.
