This month our Melody of Divine Love (MDL) group children performed on Sunday, February 25, 2018. For February we wanted to celebrate “LOVE” and spread Swami’s message of Love All, Serve All. Hence, we had planned our songs and performances to reflect the sub values of Love.

We planned to extend the service done by MDL children to other SSE students who could not attend the event. During class hours, the boys and girls of Group 1 designed and created Valentine’s day cards for the residents of Erin Meadows Retirement home. 25 cards were made and distributed to the seniors.

This month we chose to perform bhajans based on Love and the girls were enthusiastically leading this session. We began the afternoon with a small introduction followed by an opening prayer and the recitation of the Lord’s prayer. One of our youth members sang the bhajan Gajavadhana Gananatha and thus started the session with honeyed melody. Following this Love is my form was sung to celebrate the glory of Sai’s message and share the message of love with everyone in the hall. After this, our young children performed one classic song Skidamarink with some rhythmic dance movements to communicate to our audience about love for all. The song Jesus loves me was played and sung at the keyboard.  This song was sung to remind us of the love our dear God has given us all. The love of our God was next celebrated by two of our young devotees who played the Veena, a musical instrument of Goddess Saraswathi (The Goddess of Learning). The rendition of this piece was reverberating with love, learning and divine instrumental music. From divinity we came to earth when one of our talented little girls sung Doris Day’s Que Sera Sera. The heady song about life’s realities was enjoyed by the residents. This was followed by two young girls singing ‘Love, love, love one another and be kind.’ The message was strong and powerful for all who were there. After this we performed 2 devotional songs ‘I will love you’ and ‘Call upon the lord’. These vibrant devotional songs echoed in the halls of the retirement home and our audience were clapping and singing along with us. The program ended with a small skit to leave the message “Only time is capable of understanding the value of love”. This skit was beautifully presented by our young girls with a lot of enthusiasm and dedication. The message of love touched everyone’s heart. We closed the session with a beautiful prayer written by Swami. This session was supported by our talented young devotees who played the tabla, the harmonium, the Keyboard and the Veena.

Before the afternoon came to an end, the two youngest members of the group distributed the greeting cards to the residents. It was to say the least an evening filled with the purity of Love and the warmth of Kindness.

Brother Pricely as always encouraged and thanked Swami’s devoted children with cake, ice-cream and juice. The evening thus was not only filled with the sweetness of love and kindness but also with the brightness of sweet and happy young faces enjoying the delicious sweet offerings.
