Wheelchair Clinic at Participation House
As part of its annual summer activities, for over the last 20 years, 16 members including 9 Sai Young Adults from the Sathya Sai Centre of Toronto-York volunteered at a Wheelchair Clinic at the Participation House in Markham, Ontario.
Volunteering During Montreal Floods
The young adults of the Sathya Sai Centre of St-Hubert volunteered in the City of Vaudreuil (adjacent to Montreal) as it was the hardest hit. The young adults filled hundreds of sandbags and build walls around homes to prevent and delay water infiltration.
Music Therapy at Senior Home in Cooksville
The Cooksville Sai Centre has taken on an initiative – Melody of Divine Love – to provide the service of music therapy while simultaneously spreading Sathya Sai Baba’s name.
Observation of Aradhana Mahotsavam 2017
Across the country, programs to observe Sathya Sai Baba’s Aradhana Mahotsavam were held, spanning from Montreal in the east to Vancouver in the west. April 24 and the weeks preceding this important event has become a time of personal reflection for SSIO members on the nature of their relationship to Sathya Sai Baba.
Earth Day 2017: Tree Planting
More than 70 members from the Sathya Sai Centre of Toronto-York participated in a tree planting event organized by the City of Toronto’s Parks, Forestry and Recreation department in honour of Earth Day. The members joined nearly 350 volunteers from the city, and 10 other organizations from across the city.
Earth Day 2017: Adopt-a-Park in Markham
In honour of Earth Day 2017, the Sathya Sai Centre of Middlefield participated in the City of Markham’s Adopt-a-Park program to clean up Featherstone Park.
Meals on Wheels in Toronto
Continuing a tradition of serving hot meals to the needy and the homeless, eight Sai Young Adults prepared and packaged food at the Sathya Sai Centre of Mississauga – Central.
Rouge River Shoreline Cleanup
SSIO Canada partnered with the nonprofit organization Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup to restore a stretch of the Rouge River. The initiative emerged as a national program in 2002 from the aspirations of a group of employees and volunteers in 1994 from the Vancouver Aquarium who took on the ambitious project to clean up their local beach at Stanley Park.

National Textbook Drives 2016
The Sai Young Adults conducted a National Textbook Drive in all regions as a Back to School service for students in need. This service project expanded beyond the young adults and included volunteers from Sathya Sai Centres across the country, with parents and friends bringing in old and gently used books for donation at their local Centre.
